It's Just a Period, People!

We think that menstruation is marvelous.

“Down there.”

[TW: use of correct and slang terms for male and female genitalia, ideas of male dominance over women]

Stop for a second. Think. What do you call your genital area?

This blog is supposed to be breaking the boundaries around menstruation, showing you it’s not necessarily some dirty, unspeakable hell that you go through once a month. Yet here we stand with our followers, and those who come to us for advice, unable to use the proper terms.

Why do girls always feel like they have to apologize for giving an opinion or taking up space in the world? Have you ever noticed that?” Nicole asked. “You go on websites and some girl leaves a post and if it’s longer than three sentences or she’s expressing her thoughts about some topic, she usually ends with, ‘Sorry for the rant’ or ‘That may be dumb, but that’s what I think.

So fucking guilty of that.

Regardless of whether you identify as female or not,

don’t apologize for speaking your feelings and staying true to yourselves. Stay awesome, my brethren.

Colorado Woman Flips the Script and Molests TSA Agent

61-year-old Yukari Mihamae was flying home to Colorado on Thursday. She walks through Terminal 4 at Arizona’s Sky Harbor Airport, and, as expected, is faced with the TSA. But its Mihamae that did the groping this time.

According to the Daily Mail:

“Police said she is accused of grabbing the agent’s ‘left breast through her clothing and squeezing and twisting it with both hands without the victim’s permission’.”

-Taken from the article linked above

Okay, this is not period related… but I just want to say…

Molestation is not okay. Not even to make a political statement .

This makes me sick. Either this woman is sick and a molester, or she is a radical political protester. But either way, it’s the wrong way to do it.

If you have a problem with air port security, don’t fly. Don’t show up and molest the TSA people.

It was the job of the TSA Agent to feel for any weapons. She wasn’t doing it for pleasure, for kicks. It was her job.

As someone in the comments on the article mentioned, do you turn around and molest your doctors? When having a breast cancer or prostate exam, do you go and do the same to them? NO.

I hope that the TSA guard is okay. This should never happen to anyone. This woman, Mihamae, is not a hero for doing this.
